The dress (or 2) that will get you through all seasons

Striped dress with denim jacket

Apologies in advance, stripe lovers, because I’m about to feed your additction with another striped dress. I know I’m typically a big proponent of clearing out the closet – “less is more,” “quality over quantity,” etc. and so forth, but I’m also a big believer in breaking rules, when necessary.

As a fan of stripes, I typically find myself gravitating toward dresses and tops of all sorts that have the black and white combo – and I know I’m not alone in this! Black and white stripes are classic and a simple dress like this one can make you feel polished in a snap. Not only that, but this is the type of dress that you can wear through all seasons of the year. For instance, in the summer, as pictured, you can throw this dress on with sandals or mules and add statement earrings for a punch of color. In the fall and spring, you can pair it with a denim or leather jacket and some over the knee boots to keep warm. In the winter months (yes, I said the dreaded w-word), you can add in black tights (or colored tights if you’re feeling spicy!), booties and a wrap.

With the versatility this style provides, it’s definitely a staple you should have in your closet. In fact, I won’t lie – I have two. They’re both about the same length, but this one pictured is a bit more flowy, while the other one is more structured and fitted. They’re actually both from Forever 21, and I’m honestly not entirely sure if they’re both meant to be dresses or tunics #petitelife. While this dress is a few seasons old (I’m getting some major bang for the buck!), I’ve linked several below at a variety of price points.

Again, I apologize to those of you for legitiamizing the stripe addiction – but I think this one is warranted! Tell me – do you have a stripe addiction, too? If not, is there a pattern/style or type of clothing that you can’t get enough of??

  1. I definitely gravitate toward stripes! I have at least two (black/white and navy/white) in my closet and am eyeing at least one more (black/gray).
