I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:  I think not wearing white jeans after Labor Day and into winter is one of the silliest rules made up by the fashion Gods. I’ve never been a big fashion rule follower – I love mixing browns and blacks, I wear clothes & shoes from the kids section, I wear tops as dresses and leggings as pants, and yes, I see no problem with wearing white after Labor Day. I mean, it’s called “winter white” for a reason, and frankly, I took a lot of time to find white jeans that fit me perfectly, so I’m going to get the most out of them (don’t worry – I’ll never get behind the whole socks and sandals thing!).

So, if like me, you’d like to practically extend the length of the wear of your white jeans beyond summer, then start thinking of them as a staple, just like any other pair of jeans. Instead of in the summer when you’re pairing it with a cute cami and denim jacket or off-the-shoulder top (like in this post), top your jeans with a chunky sweater or a light sweater and booties like in my photos. If it gets cooler, throw on a tan leather or suede jacket and it’s even more on-trend!

Another rule I love breaking is mixing white with shades of white, such as off-white, beige, tan, cream, etc. I don’t personally love when my white’s are super matchy, but that’s just me and could totally see it looking cute on a taller girl. 🙂 I got this beige/tan Gap sweater on super sale last year and love the stitched detail down the front and back middle. These cropped white jeans (similar) became a regular in rotation when I found them at Nordstrom last summer. Being that they were cropped, they were the perfect length for me, the holes in the leg actually hit around near where they are supposed to and they are just thick enough that you don’t see through them! Score. Since they are Rag & Bone, they’re a bit on the pricier end, but as you know, I believe in quality over quantity and love investing in great basics, like jeans, that you’ll have for years, while peppering in a few trendier pieces, like these booties.
