Hi guys! Happy Friday! Today on the blog, I have the cutest spring date night outfit for you. But first, I wanted to quickly share why I’ve been so MIA the past couple weeks.
If you read my last post on our BIG LIFE update, you know why things have been a little nutty with us. I basically went a month without having a home – two weeks at my sisters and two weeks at my future in-laws. BUT, we are finally staying in our place, close to closing on it (!!) and if you follow me on insta, you know we welcomed the newest member to the fam – our golden retriever pup Marley! I will def be sharing all of the fun details on both of these milestones soon, but as mentioned, with spring temps in full swing (finally!), I wanted to share this perfect spring (or fall, or even a chilly summer night/warm winter, depending where you live!) date night outfit.
This body con/faux wrap dress (comes in long sleeve and tank version!) seems to have a cult following so I just had to try it and see if it worked on my body since everyone in the blogosphere was saying it was like the sisterhood of the traveling pants of dresses and looks good on anyone no matter shape or size! I will honestly say I don’t love it as much on me as I do a girl with a bit more height, but I still do like it and would give it a 7/10 haha. I would def recommend eating light before (and while!) you plan on wearing it! My sweet photographer Roxy had to remind me to suck it in during a few of these shots (bloggerlife), but to be fair, I did eat a pretty heavy meal the night before and then had brunch before the photo session, so I was rocking a bit of a food baby!
To give the dress a little oomph, I added a colorful scarf. I was super apprehensive about the neck tie scarf being back in trend, so I was so happy I was able to try it when I had my LeTote subscription. I was nervous that I’d look like a flight attendant, but I ended up falling in love with the fun it added to an otherwise plain outfit and already have my eye on a few others I’ve linked in this post, such as here and here (view more in my photos at the top or bottom of the post!).
I topped the outfit off with my fave neutral booties to give the allusion of elongated legs, and of course, my fave leather jacket. Seriously, I wear this faux one more than my real one I got in Italy!
Considering D and I don’t often go anywhere very fancy for dates (even when we were living in Chicago! What can I say, we’re pretty low key), I’d probably swap the heeled booties out for these for a more casual look.
What do you all think of this scarf trend? Have you tried it? Let me know in the comments below or if you have any date night outfit recos!
